Tf2 crashes when i try to use the pyro,can somebody help?

My tf2 crashes whenever i try to use the pyro,i reinstalled the game and it still does it. and on a side note where it usually says start playing and manage items it has changed to MMENU_STARTPLAYING and MMENU_CHARACTERSETUP....somebody please help.
