What species of snake did I see?

I reckon you saw a Yellow-faced Whip snake. They move pretty fast and are quite often pale grey in colour with a yellowish facde and a narrow, yellow-edged dark bar around the front of the snout from nostril to nostril. They are venomous but not really dangerous.
