Is it a bad sign my friend plays with fire?

My friend is always putting stuff in a lit candle when we are together. She claims she just likes the way it looks when it burnt but the smell is awful. She burns things like toothpicks, pieces of licorice, and sour punch straws. Is there something more behind her "pyro" actions. Should i be worried??
